A Heartfelt Plea for Support:
Help Us Restore theBACKstop After The Flood
Dear Clients and Community,
My name is Rhonda Satterlee, and I am the proud owner of theBACKstop, a sanctuary for health and wellness, that has been life-changing for many, and has been my passion for 22 years. Our mission has always been to provide a safe, comforting space where clients can unwind and rejuvenate after a hectic day.
On December 13th, I received the call every business owner dreads: our treasured space had suffered extensive damage due to a devastating flood from a neighboring business. We faced this unfortunate setback just as I was ready to push forward with new plans after a four-year health battle. The damage forced us to close for almost 3 months during our busiest seasons, Christmas through Valentine’s Day, and we are still struggling to recover, only operating at reduced hours per week.
The flood not only ruined our floors, various equipment, and oxy-bar lighting, all of which take funds; but it also led to the loss of our dedicated staff. After being unable to work for months they had to move on to secure their livelihoods. As a result, our ability to serve our loyal clients has been severely hindered.
It has been 11 months and their insurance company continues to refuse to pay. Now, we are reaching out for your support. We are determined to restore theBACKstop, not just as a business, but as a vital resource for our community. We believe that with your help, we can hire new therapists, replace ruined equipment, and restore our space to its former glory.
Your contributions—no matter the amount—can make a profound difference. If you have the means then please give what you feel in your heart, even a donation of $10 or $20 can help us take steps toward recovery. If you are unable to donate, sharing our story within your network can also have a tremendous impact.
Our immediate needs include hiring massage therapists to serve our waiting clients and cover essential operating expenses. We also need to replace our ruined equipment and ultimately restore our flooring; as what we have now is only portable temporary flooring. The journey to rebuild will take time, but with the strength of our community behind us I am confident we can emerge even stronger than before.
Thank you for considering our plea for help. Your support means the world to us, and together, we can keep theBACKstop alive and thriving for years to come.
With deepest gratitude,
Rhonda Satterlee
